This program is sponsored by Together We Build (TWB), a very successful interfaith program, which has lived its purpose of building community among faith groups by working together on Habitat for Humanity projects. For five years, Jews, Christians and Muslims have worked together to build houses for low income families in King County.
The idea of Together We Eat and Learn (TWEL) grew out of this very positive experience of multi-faith sharing, serving and learning. TWEL seeks to create intergenerational and interfaith events that foster respect, friendship and understanding.
You and your family are invited to join us in any or all of the following
3:00 – 5:00 pm Help to prepare Persian food.
5:00 – 6:00 pm Enjoy Persian appetizers, a Persian New Year
demonstration; music, videos, Iranian facts and artifacts
6:00 – 7:00 pm Persian dinner
7:15 – 7:30 pm Islamic prayers and Jewish end of Sabbath ceremony
7:30 – 8:30 pm Panel presentation followed by Q & A
Childcare will be provided between 3-6pm. (Toddlers & older children)
A minimum donation of $10/per person, $30/per family is requested to cover the cost of food. Additional donations will be given to the Together We Build interfaith alliance.
